The Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) has taken a major step to reinforce its institutional presence in the federal capital by entering into an agreement with Capital Policy and Regulatory Solutions (CPRS). The partnership aims to enhance PCMA’s long-term strategic engagement with key Federal Government stakeholders.
During the Executive Committee (E.C.) meeting, the Secretary General briefed members that, following the Committee’s directives, PCMA management conducted detailed due diligence to identify a suitable Islamabad-based partner. As a result, CPRS has been appointed as PCMA’s official Regulatory Affairs Consultant on a monthly retainership basis.
The E.C. was informed that the primary objective of this arrangement is to ensure stronger representation of PCMA within relevant government corridors, enabling the association to proactively participate in policy, regulatory, and industrial matters that directly impact Pakistan’s chemical sector.
An additional clause built into the agreement states that if any PCMA member assigns a one-time, separate consultancy project to CPRS, the firm will remit 12% of the charged fee back to PCMA, creating a mutually beneficial value-sharing mechanism.
Under the agreement, CPRS will perform a comprehensive set of functions on behalf of PCMA in Islamabad, including:
- Maintaining close and continuous liaison with Federal Government ministries, divisions, and attached departments.
- Providing timely regulatory insights to support PCMA’s policy positions.
- Ensuring PCMA’s inclusion in all relevant government notices, correspondences, circulars, consultations, and meetings.
- Offering expert advice and carrying out submissions, follow-ups, and advocacy on collective issues related to budget proposals, trade agreements, energy, customs, narcotics, DPL matters, and other key policy areas.
- Arranging meetings for PCMA delegations visiting Islamabad.
- Executing any additional tasks assigned by PCMA as required.
After reviewing the contractual framework, the E.C. formally approved the appointment of CPRS as PCMA’s official representative in Islamabad.
The new partnership is expected to significantly enhance PCMA’s policy influence, regulatory visibility, and ability to protect and promote the collective interests of Pakistan’s chemical industry.
