Tata Textile Mills Limited (PSX: TATM) has launched a Balancing, Modernization, and Replacement (BMR) project at its Muzaffargarh Unit-M01 to upgrade operations and improve production efficiency.
According to an official filing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the project involves replacing 19,200 existing spindles with 24,288 new high-efficiency spindles, alongside machinery upgrades and civil works. The modernization plan aims to reduce energy and labor costs, enhance productivity, and strengthen the company’s long-term profitability.
The project is expected to be completed within six months, as per company disclosures. Management stated that the initiative will “optimize production processes and improve overall operational efficiency.”
Tata Textile Mills, part of Tata Pakistan Group, is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of cotton yarn. The company’s decision to modernize comes amid growing competition and rising energy costs affecting Pakistan’s textile sector.
Industry analysts note that similar modernization efforts across textile mills are essential for improving export competitiveness and reducing operational inefficiencies in the sector.
